Many people come to us and they want to know how they can find an SEO agency for their company website that not only has a good reputation but is also most likely to get results.
One of the things I tell our readers is that you need to make sure that you do your due diligence. Make sure you take the time to really look into the company. Have they been around for a long time? Have they got proven results of rankings in the search engines? Have they got client testimonials?
I get around ten emails a day from companies trying to sell me their digital marketing services and some times just for fun I like to look into the company to see if they are legit or not.
One of the things that you will no doubt be surprised to hear is that 50% of the companies that contact me don’t even have their own website.
I mean, come on!
How can you expect anyone to take you seriously if you don’t even have your own website? That is step one of setting up a legit looking business right?
So the point here is that when hiring agencies it is best to do your research first.
Then once you have found an SEO company that you think can get you results why not give them a phone call. Then when you’ve got them on the phone tell them that you are not quite sure just yet and that you would like to get a free consultation with them showing you exactly what they can do for your business.
The when you get the free consultation see whether it is over Skype or in person. The preferable option would be face to face and in person buy even Skype is better than nothing.
Then once you have your consultation with them you need to ask them some questions to make sure they know what they are doing.
Ask them some things like “Is it white hat SEO you will be doing?”
Many SEO companies out there do a lot of Blackhat SEO which is exactly what you don’t want. Tell them that you don’t want them to use any software on your site or bots.
You could also ask them how many backlinks they are going to get for you per month. The kind of answer you are looking for is for them to tell you that these day backlinks are less about quantity and more about quality.
The reason for this is because Google has really cracked down on spammy mass quality links that are easy to get and actually much prefers less links from quality sites.
I go into much more detail in the video below so make sure you watch that too:
